I recently bought my sister-in-law a set of candles with the pretty dried flowers embedded in the sides. She loved them. She said that there was only one problem: "After they burnt down to a certain point, the dried flowers are exposed and once they become too hot, they catch on fire. I am not kidding, luckily, I came downstairs to get a cup of coffee when I did, because the entire candle was on fire- I mean black smoke etc... it was a good thing it didn't catch my curtains on fire!!!" This is a reason that many companies are now making candles with the actual candle in a glass container- with the flowers embedded in wax on the outerside of the glass. That is the only way to buy candles with dried flowers in them. My sister-in-law did get a gift certificate from the company in the end. (Xenia & Wendy)
