Toilets : Cleaning
By Wendy Shepherd
Apr 24, 2005, 20:38

Keep a small container of baby wipes near the toilet. they can be used by any age to "freshen up" and are also handy to give the toilet seat a quick wipe when company drops in unexpectedly.

My boys are messy as they are young with using the toilet. To save time and trying to get into every little nook of the toilet seat, I just fill up a squirt bottle with water and add some bleach. Spray down the toilet and wipe off! A good scrub now and then too. (Wendy)

Use bleach tablets in the back of the toilet to help with keeping the toilet clean.

When cleaning the toilet, I take a large bowl of hot water and pour it down the toilet first. This takes most of the water out of the toilet. Then I use the toilet cleaner on the sides and brush it. I feel I'm not diluting the cleaner that way. After bushing, I add hot water to the toilet again (this time it fills the toilet) and let it sit until next time it gets flushed. NOTE: Don't close the lid with hot water in the toilet or everything gets all wet from steam. (Linda)

For horribly brown and limescaled loos (toilets), pour in Spirit of Salts (alius HCL) and leave. Yours too will soon sparkle as good as new. (Jo Rideal)

I like to use old...or unmatched socks to clean yucky places like around the toilet. Then, when I'm done, I can just throw away the sock! I also use baby wipes around the sinks for a quick clean up. (LK)

What helps with toilet cleaning is to poor some bleach into the toilet and let it sit for a while. Then just flush.
