This recipe has been handed down through the generations of our family. Most of the ingredients are ones that you already have. So, as long as you have apples you can make this recipe.

Here is the ingredents that you need:

3 cups fresh apples, chopped

2 cups nuts (pecans or black walnuts), chopped

2 cups sugar

3 eggs

1 1/4 cup cooking oil

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla

3 cups flour, sifted

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

*Add raisins if wanted

Combine and cream sugar, eggs, oil and vanilla. Add slowly flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt to the creamed sugar mixture. Stir in chopped apples and nuts (raisins if desired).

Line tube pan with wax paper. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes at 350F. Remove from oven when tester comes out clean.
