Love Tips

Appreciate
Don't smother...it can stifle a relationship. Do activities apart, appreciate the differences and interests each other has...later you can get cozy and discuss your activities and share your time apart over tea or hot chocolate as you snuggle and show each other how you enjoy being together again! (Sherry)

_____
Fortunes
Next time you get Chinese food take-out, ask for some extra fortune cookies. Or just go to a Chinese food restaurant and ask them for a handful of them. Take them home and cut pieces of paper the size of the message inside. Do not break them open. Put them in the microwave for about 10-20 seconds. Times will vary according to microwave. Experiment first. After it's done, take it out. It should be very flexible. Bend it open, and take out the fortune message in it, and replace it with your new love message. "I love you", Free massage, or your own original message add a very personal touch to a fortune cookie. Or make a fortune up for the two of you. Then close it up, and put in refrigerator until it is not bendy anymore. These are great gifts for just because, for birthdays, anniversaries especially, or for Valentine's Day, or just anything. They are an even better gift, when given in multiple numbers. (3-4 or more.) Be personal and get creative! (Kate)

_____
IOU's
Give I Owe You's (IOU's) to your mate, whether it be for a holiday, a birthday, or just because.  A massage (body, hand, foot, etc.), a free night out on you, a special date, a theme date, a movie night, a dinner made by you, etc... It is a great way of giving your mate what they want. They won't feel as if they are being selfish or greedy.  It also forces you to be creative! (Kate)

_____
Words
Some people believe that no words can ever express our feelings and that once our feelings are translated to words, they lose their truth and identity.  That is true to an extent, however, words are essential at the beginning of a relationship to establish the base.  Emily Dickinson says "A word is dead when it is said, some say. I say it just begins to live that day". (Salma Massoud)

_____
Love
Tell your honey everyday "I Love You!" Remember that the power of touch is amazing! Hugs & kisses, holding hands, a little neck or backrub, or just snuggling on the couch with a good movie will keep you in touch!

_____
Roses
Give roses! You can give roses or any kind of flowers at ANY time of the year! Don't just make it a "forgive me" thing - Do it for Love! For gals and guys.

_____
Cards
The best cards are those that you have made yourself with your own words written in them! You may even include a promise note.

_____
Candy
Buy the best kind of candy, not just what you can grab at the last minute. The kind you know will make your honey go MmMmMm!

_____
Dinner
Take your honey to dinner and/or a movie every once in a while. If you have kids try to do this at least once or twice  a month. If you don't have kids, what are you waiting for?

____
Time Alone
Couples tend to get so caught up in their work schedules and their household duties that by the end of the day there isn't much time left for their loved one. Remember, if the love isn't there they may tend to want to go elsewhere!

_____
Dancing
Yes, dancing! For love's sake, SLOW dancing is the best. Nothing is better than the physical feeling and rhythm of slow dancing. Do it often, even if it is just done at home.

_____
Space
Everyone needs a little space for themselves. How can you remain yourself without it. It gives you time to reflect on your life and what you need. Especially space is needed when one is angry. Don't fight! Talk it out.

_____
Communication
Communication is a big key to a good relationship. Talking things over and letting each other know what you like and dislike. It shows where you stand on many issues.

_____
Burden
Couples should share the burdens of the household as well as the family. It takes two to make the relationship work as well as let any kids involved know that parents are a team, and not someone to play tug- of-war with.

_____
Eyes
The eyes have it. Eye contact is very important.  It lets your loved one know that they have your full attention.

_____
Faith
Be forever faithful to the one you love!  Don't cheat and keep your eyes off of others.

_____
Caring
Show you care. Help with chores, or open the door of the car, or help with tying a tie, or with putting on a jacket. It's the little things that count.

_____
Colored Roses
Rose colors have different meanings. Red stands for Passion, pink stands for friendship, yellow stands for Respect, and white stands for Purity.

_____
Apart
Business trips and such can separate you at times. Why not send a postcard or a love letter each day to your loved one while they are away.

_____
Candles
Yes, dinner out is nice. Why not dinner at home by candlelight? Don't forget the soft romantic music. Candles are very romantic for anything and everything!

_____
Greetings
Greet your loved one at the door when they arrive home. They will feel missed and loved. Ask about their day, listen first and then share your day with them.

_____
New?
If you are new to love, then take it slow. Most importantly be yourself!

_____
Late?
If you are going  to be late, be sure to call your loved one who is going to be worried about you if you don't call.

_____
Love Note
To start the day out well, when your bathroom mirror is fogged from the shower, write an "I love you" note or draw a picture on the medicine cabinet mirror.  When the "fog" clears it won't be seen until the next time your loved one gets out of the shower...and surprise...its a love note!(Sandra)

_____
Kisses
Noone ever gets too many kisses and hugs from their loved ones. Kisses out of the blue are wonderful surprises. If asked "What was that for?" you can say "Just because I love you!" You can never say "I love you" too much either.
