Tips for Furniture

Put some of those old styrofoam packing shapes on the floor between the back of your furniture and the wall to keep couches and beds from slamming into the wall when someone sits on them. (NYCPaul)

For baby oil stains on wood furniture, try sprinkling baby powder on the spot and letting it extract the oil...brush away next day. (Cheryl)

Hide a scratch on walnut furniture by taking a piece of walnut, making a fresh break in it and rubbing the nutmeat on the scratch. (Mary)

For water marks on wood furniture, wipe briskly with a few drops of alcohol.

For water marks on wood, wipe with mayonnaise and allow it to sit for twenty minutes or so.
