Blooming Valentines
By Rondi Hillstrom Davis and Janell Sewall Oakes
Feb 12, 2006, 19:06

Make a whimsically painted planter full of miniature roses, African violets, or your favorite herbs. All you need is a terra-cotta pot, potting soil, acrylic paint, and some paint brushes or small sponges.

Directions

1. Wipe the outside of your pot clean. Cut small sponges into heart shapes to use as stamps. Paint a Valentine design on the outside of your pot and allow it to dry.

2. Fill the pot with a shallow layer of gravel for drainage and then some potting soil.

3. Add a small miniature plant. Pat it into place and water it lightly. Present it to your loved one for Valentine's Day and don't forget the hugs and kisses.
